Gordon Ramsay’s Fish & Chips opened on the Wharf last Tuesday, becoming the British chef’s first restaurant in D.C. It’s also the first establishment to open at the Waterfront’s new Phase 2 development.

The restaurant is fast casual, and meals run $14.99 and up. You can dine in the small Union Jack-splashed dining room, or take it to go. Even Major Bowser had to check it out. We took it upon ourselves to try ALL the menu items (it’s a small menu, jeez). Don’t miss the:

  • Fish Combo – The restaurant's namesake. Golden, crunchy, oily battered cod with fries and your choice of sauce. *Chef’s kiss*
  • Dirty Chips #1 – My favorite of the three “dirty” chip options, this could easily be a whole meal. Fries topped with jalapeño, chorizo, cotija cheese, onion, and parsley.
  • Biscoff Shake – Like the cookie. Thick, not too sweet, topped with cookie crumbs and caramel.

Ramsay said he was excited for residents to try Hell’s Kitchen when it opens up just down the Wharf. He promises it will be “one of the best openings of 2023.”

“Just to be part of this wharf, not only helping with its rejuvenation and putting this thing back on the map, but also opening up to everyone … I’ve had the most amazing time,” said Ramsay.
