Well, well, well, it looks like you forgot to book a table for Mother’s Day brunch and now you’re scrambling. Don’t panic, there are still lots of good options your mom will love and will guarantee you that coveted “best child of the year” award.

Grab a reservation at this Afghan AdMo standby quick. The Mother’s Day brunch special is $37 for three courses, including pasties, an Afghan egg dish with sautéed tomatoes and potatoes, a “Kabul frittata,” and their signature rosewater-cardamom pancakes.

A few caramelized apple mimosas will have your mom breaking out the baby pics at this modern Mexican spot at Union Market. The brunch menu includes huevos rancheros, tostadas, and an excellent raw bar.

This Japanese spot in Dupont was on our “Best Underrated Restaurants” list for its creative sushi and great deals. They are having an all-you-can-eat Mother’s Day special for $35.

For something more upscale, Gravitas is hosting a family-friendly brunch with chilled salmon tataki, creamy burrata, and wagyu steak and eggs. It’s $85 per person and $35 per child.

This Mid-Atlantic restaurant is a sleeper gem that will please even the pickiest moms. Start with oysters then move on to shrimp and grits, homemade English muffins, and cinnamon roll bread pudding.

You can’t go wrong with this Jose Andreas stand-by. This Chinese/Peruvian restaurant offers a five-course tasting menu on Saturday and Sunday for $65/person with their famous “dancing yucca,” ceviches, and dumplings.

It might be a little untraditional but dan dan noodles and pork buns always hit. This dim sum spot doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait.
