From treehouse clubs to Top Chef seafood towers, here’s what's new around town this month, followed by a few painful closings.

👋 Welcome these newcomers:

Located in the heart of Dupont, this large Mediterranean restaurant goes all in on the seafood with whole fish, an extensive raw bar, and nontraditional, but delicious, sashimi. Also, don't miss the spanakopita and variety of espresso martinis.

This rooftop lounge in the Union Market neighborhood is Tulum-inspired, with lush greenery and Mexican bites. They also have a patio with fire pits and a “Jungle Room” that serves as a club with live DJs.

Grazie Nonna is opening up this spin-off cocktail bar serving Italian cocktail essentials and shareable plates. The owners designed it to be a “more buttoned up” version of Grazie Nonna, with velvet seating, vintage mirrors, and chandeliers.

Top Chef winner Gabe Erales just opened a Tex-Mex restaurant in Tyson’s with a seafood-centric menu. The restaurant has two levels, three bars, and an Insta-worthy seafood tower.

This San Francisco-inspired taqueria known for its Mission-style burritos opened its first D.C. location on Dec. 5 in Chinatown and is opening its second in Dupont tomorrow.

🪦 Say farewell to:

This wine bar was burglarized five times in the last five months, and it will close on Dec. 17. It’s the second business restaurant to leave H Street NE in the last month. Is crime driving restaurant closures in D.C.?

This beloved 14th Street Sichuan restaurant known for its mala dishes shut down earlier this month. The couple behind it is finally retiring.

Arlington’s massive nightlife staple is shutting down on Dec. 15. It’s known for its Basque Country dishes and sangria by the pitcher.

This fine-dining Singaporean restaurant closed on Dec. 4, just 10 months after it opened. However, Chef Pepe Moncayo says they are looking into other locations.
