Where to get coffee:
Start your day with a visit to Little Food Studio, a closet-sized cafe that pumps out the most gorgeous coffee and pastries. Don’t miss the sausage roll and the balsamic, cherry, and blood orange scones. Around the corner you’ll find ETA Cafe, which serves up very strong espresso and chai to get you going.
What to eat:
It’s impossible to choose. For the best fried chicken in the city, head to Honeymoon Chicken. For some Neapolitan style pizza with intense flavors and edible flowers, try Timber Pizza. For dinner, get cozy at the Bib Gourmand ramen joint Menya Hosaki, where homemade noodles float in rich shoyu broth.
What to do:
This Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. is Petworth Porchfest, where local bands takeover the neighborhood on makeshift porch stages. It’s one of my favorite events in D.C. and the perfect way to check out Petworth’s local color. If you can’t make Porchfest, Room 808 is a close second. The beloved comedy venue feels like your punk crush’s living room and brings in comics from around the country.
