Your Guide to March 2025 in DC

It has been a long and cold winter, but things are finally looking up. Sunset is actually past 6 p.m.! The City Cast DC podcast is here with recs (other than cherry blossoms!) to make the most of the upcoming month of warmth and sunshine.

This artsy movie theater will be showing its last film on March 6. So grab a beer and watch a 3.5 hour movie in a slightly uncomfortable seat before it’s too late. They’ll be screening “The Brutalist,” “Shaun of the Dead,” and “Mickey 17” in their last few days.

This two-day retreat hosted by Merry Pin in Takoma Park is for witches (or wannabe witches) and crafters. It includes three meals, two workshops, gatherings, coffee breaks and more. Take a rest and manifest your intentions for the coming season.

D.C.’s just installed Food Waste Smart Bins all around the city, with more to come. They are unlocked with an app or a keycode. So no more hauling your stinky week-old compost to the farmers market. Don’t know what to compost? We’ve got you!

Gym memberships in D.C. are mega expensive. Luckily, the warm weather means more free workout classes. From running and hiking clubs to yoga and dance classes, you can find a different activity everyday of the week.

Boooooo! Yes, I know. But the deadline is coming up and it’s gotta get done. D.C. Public Library has all sorts of tax prep and aid services running throughout the month of March that make it easy.

Femme Fatale and Queer Talk DC are teaming up to put on this massive sapphic market at Hook Hall on March 29. There will be art installations, two amazing DJs, and over 30 vendors. Come out and support your local queer D.C. creatives!
